The First Lady of Street Fighter Returns

If you're a huge fan of fighting games, then you are probably familiar with this character. She is probably one of the most popular figures in her franchise, albeit in the genre. If you don't know her, you're missing out.

I'm talking about the legendary Chun-Li, the first lady of gaming. It's no surprise that she has gained so much popularity over the years

The most notable thing about the character is that she was the very first female ever to be introduced into the first two Street Fighter installments. Though she is a fictional character, she is an excellent role model. Representative of what it means to be a strong woman, she shows exceptional courage and determination in fighting her adversaries.

An In depth Look

During the period covered in Street Fighter Alpha, she wore an embroidered vest, unitard and athletic shoes, as well as studded wristbands. It is unclear why she chose to stop using this outfit and switch to the qipao in subsequent Street Fighter games.

There's no shortage of fun in the new installment, Street Fighter V. Chun-li comes back with all the old moves fans of the series know and love, with just a few new sprinkles.

A new feature now exists called "V-trigger," which makes the Hyakuretsukyaku or "lightning kick" look even more badass. It is much like the special from the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Hold down both the heavy buttons and unleash a flurry of kicks on your enemies using Chun-li's signature high-speed barrage.

In addition to her new "trigger," our thick-thighed badass can pull off a move called Rankyaku. This special allows for an awesome follow-up attack that makes it appear as though the character is performing an Irish jig atop her enemy's head.

SFV: Character Introduction Series - Chun-Li

Check out this overview of all the badass moves at your disposal as Chun-li. One thing to note is that this is the final character intro released for the game. A special thanks to the guys at Capcom Fighters.

Street Fighter V is a must-have for any hardcore fan of fighting games. I haven't had the luxury of playing one up until Injustice, but this one looks like it's going to be pretty epic.

And Chun-li is the only reason I'll be buying this title.
